Our greatest supporters and advocates are the people aware of the work of the dZi Foundation.

A great way to increase awareness is to give a friend or relative a gift donation and introduce them to the work of the dZi.  Each gift donation recipient receives a letter acknowledging a donation has been made in their name, a description of the project gifted, and a dZi Foundation brochure and DVD.

Your donations to this non-profit 501 (c)(3) are tax deductible.  A receipt for your tax records will be mailed to you. 

DZI GIFTING OPPORTUNITIES

Optical Solutions - $50.00

The gift made in your name will provide ten children with their own pair of prescription glasses from our vision clinics held in Ladakh and Sikkim, India. We have tested the eyesight of hundreds of children and provided corrective lenses through our program, Optical Solutions.

In the remote and rugged territories we serve, basic health care services are usually nonexistent or unaffordable to the majority of the population. Most are subsistence farmers who have little, if any, time or extra funds for such services. The dZi Foundation provides the eye testing and glasses on a no-fee basis. This donation provides the gift of sight, changing a young life.

The dZi Foundation has tested over 2600 children since 2005.

This gift given in your name brings primary education to one child for one year. Your donation provides a uniform, shoes, school bag, textbooks and stationery for a student at the Charmile, Assam Lingsey, and Pool Bazaar primary schools in Sikkim, India. Along with these basic needs, your gift provides two hours of tutoring each day, after regular school, plus a hot lunch each school day for that child.

Without dZi’s support, these children would not have this educational opportunity. These are the children of road workers and laborers who work hard each day for less than $1 with no hope of advancement. Your gift of educational opportunity will give these children a chance to prosper.

As of December 2007, 400 children have been sponsored.

The gift made in your name will provide dental care for ten children at one of our sponsored dental clinics. This year the dZi Foundation sponsored four dental clinics in Ladakh, India and Kathmandu, Nepal, providing children with first time preventative dental care.

Ladakh, India is a remote and rugged territory where basic health care services are nonexistent or unaffordable to the majority of the population. Most are subsistence farmers who have little, if any, time or extra funds for such services. The foundation provides this care on a no fee basis, with follow up care every eighteen months for school children in the areas served.

Since its inception in 2002, the dZi Foundation has provided 8000 children with dental care.

The dZi Foundation partners with the Nepalese Youth Opportunity Foundation to fund this excellent program. The gift made in your name will support one severely malnourished child and his or her mother for five weeks at the Nutritional Rehabilitation Home. This contribution will provide the food, medical supplies, doctor visits and nutritional education classes to bring the child to 80% of his or her target weight. Once the child has returned to his or her village, three follow-up visits will be made to support the child’s progress. The mother also takes her newly learned nutritional education back to the village to share with her community.

220 children saved, 220 mothers educated annually.

The dZi Foundation currently accepts Visa and Mastercard. For one-time gifts we feel it is best to use Pay Pal or phone in your card information. For gifts made monthly, quarterly, bi-annually or annually, please contact Kara to set up an in-house account.

Matching Gifts:
Many contributors multiply their support for the dZi Foundation each year by making use of their employer's matching gift programs. The foundation is grateful to these companies and foundations for their generosity.

To find out if your company matches in such a program, ask your HR department. If they don't, why not suggest they add a matching program and recommend the dZi Foundation.

Honorary and Memorial Gifts:
A gift in memory or honor of a teacher, family member, relative or friend is a generous and thoughtful way to recognize a person's life and accomplishments.

When an honorary or memorial gift is made, the dZi will notify the honoree or next of kin (if requested), and the gift will be administered as the contributor specifies.
